Former TV anchor arrested for mother's stabbing death
Angelynn Mock, a former TV anchor for St. Louis' Fox 2, USA, has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers. The incident occurred Friday morning in Wichita, Kansas, where police discovered Avers in bed with multiple stab wounds. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities responded to the scene around 8 a.m. and found Mock outside the home. A neighbor, Alyssa Castro, reported seeing Mock covered in blood and seeking help. Castro's boyfriend reportedly lent Mock his cellphone, which she then allegedly took and fled.
Mock is currently being held at Sedgwick County Jail on a $1 million bond. The investigation is ongoing.
