46 confirmed dead following major accident in Uganda

A tragic accident on the Kampala-Gulu Highway has resulted in at least 46 fatalities and numerous injuries in western Uganda.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning at Asili Farm in Kitaleba village, Kiryandongo District, involving two buses from different transport companies, a lorry truck, and a Toyota Land Cruiser.

Preliminary reports from police indicate that the driver of a Planet Company bus swerved from the wrong lane, colliding with a Nile Star bus. The severity of the injuries sustained by several passengers raises concerns that the death toll may increase.
