Russia expands educational and travel opportunities for African students

Russia has allocated over 5,000 state-funded university places for African students for the 2025/2026 academic year. This move comes as more than 40,000 Africans applied to Russian universities in 2024, highlighting a growing interest in education opportunities in the country.

In addition to university placements, Russia is expanding educational projects in several African nations, including Egypt, Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa, and Ethiopia.

Furthermore, Russia is enhancing travel accessibility by offering visa-free agreements with Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Eswatini, facilitating easier movement for African students.
