Rapper Nicki Minaj commends U.S. action on Nigeria’s religious violence

American rapper Nicki Minaj has expressed her appreciation for President Donald Trump’s recent designation of Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” due to alleged religious persecution.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump highlighted the existential threat facing Christianity in Nigeria, accusing radical Islamists of widespread killings of Christians.

Trump stated, “Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.”

He emphasized the U.S. commitment to addressing these atrocities and supporting the global Christian population.

In her response shared on X, Minaj conveyed her gratitude for the freedom to worship in the United States. She remarked, “We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practising their religion.”

Minaj also underscored the broader issue of religious persecution worldwide, urging awareness of these human rights violations. She thanked Trump and his administration for their attention to this matter, concluding with a call for prayers for persecuted Christians globally.
