Sean Paul and Dua Lipa's “No Lie" achieves 3x Platinum Certification in the UK
Nine years after its release, "No Lie" by Sean Paul and Dua Lipa continues to resonate in the United Kingdom. On October 17, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) awarded the song a 3x platinum certification, recognizing sales and streaming equivalent to 1.8 million units.
Released in November 2016 as the lead single from Sean Paul’s EP Mad Love, The Prequel, the track was later included in Dua Lipa’s Complete Edition deluxe album in 2018.
Produced by British producers Sermstyle and Pip Kembo, "No Lie" was co-written by Sean Paul, Andrew Jackson, Emily Warren, and Sermstyle.
The official music video, directed by Tim Nackashi and released in January 2017, was filmed at West London’s Sunbeam Studios and has garnered over 1.4 billion views to date.
While "No Lie" achieved commercial success across several European countries, it did not chart in the United States.
It peaked at #10 in the UK and made the Top 20 in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Scotland, and Slovakia.
The song has also earned multiple sales certifications, including Diamond in Brazil and France, 4x platinum in Italy, 3x platinum in Poland, and gold in Denmark, among others.
